About Us

OneMeet is a mobile application owned and operated by Alphameet Innovate Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, having its registered office at C-1407, 14th Floor, Ardente Pine Grove, Rayasandra, Muthanallur, Bangalore South, Karnataka, India – 560099 (hereinafter referred to as "the Company", "we", "us", or "our").

OneMeet is a professional networking platform that enables verified adult professionals to discover other professionals present within a shared physical location or premises, send and accept in-person meeting requests, and also connect and communicate online through the application.

The Company is the Data Fiduciary in respect of all personal data collected through the application.

Scope and Applicability

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the OneMeet mobile application and the associated website (used solely for application information and download redirection). It governs all personal data collected, processed, stored, or disclosed by the Company in connection with your use of our services.

This Policy is to be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use and any other applicable policies or agreements that govern your use of the OneMeet application.

This Policy applies to users located in India. If you access the application from outside India, please note that your data will still be stored and processed within India.

Definitions

For the purposes of this Policy, the following terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them below:

a. "Personal Data" means any data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to such data, as defined under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

b. "Data Fiduciary" means the Company, which determines the purpose and means of processing personal data.

c. "Data Principal" or "User" means the individual whose personal data is being processed.

d. "Processing" means any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, including collection, storage, use, sharing, and deletion.

e. "Premises" means any physical location, building, co-working space, or venue that a user designates or enters as their active location within the application.

f. "Meeting Request" means an in-app request sent by one user to another user within the same Premises to initiate a physical in-person professional meeting.

g. "Networking Request" means an online connection request (similar to a connection request on professional networks) that can be sent to any user on the platform regardless of location.

h. "SOS Feature" means the in-app emergency assistance function that connects a user to a human moderator of the Company in situations of physical risk or danger.

i. "DPDPA" means the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and rules framed thereunder.

Personal Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data when you register, create a profile, and use the OneMeet application:

4.1 Account and Basic Information

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Profile photograph
  • Username or display name
  • Bio or personal description (optional)
  • Age and gender (received from Google Authentication)

4.2 Professional Information

  • Designation or job title
  • Company or organisation name
  • Industry or sector
  • Years of experience
  • Educational qualifications

Professional certifications, LinkedIn profiles, and other professional identifiers are not currently collected.

How We Collect Personal Data

We collect personal data through the following methods:

a. Directly from you: when you register, create your profile, fill in professional details, upload content, send meeting or networking requests, use the messaging feature, or interact with any feature of the application.

b. Automatically: through device sensors (including GPS for location data), application telemetry, crash reporting tools, and usage analytics.

c. Through Google Sign-In: when you authenticate using your Google account, we receive your verified name, email address, age, and gender from Google, subject to the permissions you grant.

d. Through Google Maps SDK: location data is processed in conjunction with Google Maps to display premises-level location information within the application.

Purpose of Data Collection and Legal Basis

We process your personal data only for specific, lawful purposes. The primary purposes for which we process your data include:

Account creation and management.

Enabling location-based professional discovery within a Premises.

Facilitating in-person Meeting Requests.

In-app messaging and online networking.

Professional profile visibility to connections and co-located users.

Customer support and grievance redressal.

Personalisation of content and discovery.

Marketing and promotional communications.

Analytics and platform performance tracking.

Legal and regulatory compliance.

Fraud prevention, security, and platform safety.

Human moderation of content and user behaviour.

Processing through SOS feature for emergency situations.

We process personal data only where permitted by applicable law and where necessary to provide the services offered through OneMeet.

Age Restriction and Protection of Minors

The OneMeet application is strictly intended for use by individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18.

Age verification is conducted through Google Sign-In at the time of account creation. Users are required to confirm that they are 18 years of age or older at the time of registration.

If we become aware or have reasonable grounds to believe that a user is under the age of 18, we may immediately suspend and permanently delete the relevant account and all associated personal data without notice.

If you become aware of any account held by a minor, please notify us immediately at onemeet.co.in@onemeet.co.in.

Profile Visibility and Data Shared with Other Users

8.1 General Profile Visibility

Your professional profile on OneMeet — including your name, professional details (designation, company, industry, experience, qualifications), profile photograph, bio, and interests — is visible only to:

  • Users who are physically present within the same Premises as you (when your location is active).
  • Users with whom you have an established connection (accepted Networking Request).

Your profile is not publicly accessible to all users of the application. Users outside your Premises who are not your connections cannot view your profile.

8.2 Meeting Requests (In-Person)

When you send a Meeting Request to another user within the same Premises, your profile — including your name, professional details, and profile photograph — is shared with that user for the purpose of enabling them to decide whether to accept the request.

8.3 Networking Requests (Online)

Networking Requests may be sent to any user on the platform regardless of their physical location. Upon acceptance of a Networking Request, both users' profiles become mutually visible to each other as connections.

8.4 User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of the information you choose to include in your profile. The Company does not independently verify professional information provided by users.

Location and Presence Data — Detailed Disclosure

Location data is the foundational feature of OneMeet. By using this application, you consent to the collection and use of your location data as described in this Policy.

9.1 How Location is Collected

Location data is collected while the application is open or running in the foreground and when you manually check in to a Premises or activate a session within the application.

Location is not collected in the background when the application is closed.

9.2 Location Sharing — Opt-In

Location sharing is optional and requires you to grant permission to access your device's GPS and location services.

9.3 What Other Users Can See

Other users within the same Premises can see that you are present at that location. Exact GPS coordinates are not displayed to other users.

9.4 User Controls Over Location Visibility

  • You may go invisible or disable presence visibility at any time.
  • You may block specific users.
  • You may revoke location permission through your device settings.

9.5 Retention of Location Data

Location and presence data are retained for the duration of your active use of the application and are deleted in accordance with our account deletion process.

9.6 Location Data and Third Parties

Your precise location data is not shared with any third party for advertising, profiling, or commercial purposes. Location processing through Google Maps SDK is limited to application functionality.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

10.1 With Other Users of the Platform

Certain profile and presence information may be shared with other users in accordance with the functionality of the platform and your visibility settings.

10.2 With Cloud Service Providers

Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers hosted within India. AWS acts as a data processor on our behalf.

10.3 With Google (Sign-In and Maps)

We use Google Authentication and Google Maps SDK. Google may process certain information required to provide these services.

10.4 With SMS Service Provider

We use FSST 2 as our SMS provider for transactional and communication messages.

10.5 With Human Moderators

Human moderators may access content, profile information, and interaction records to enforce community standards and respond to safety incidents.

10.6 With Law Enforcement and Legal Authorities

We may disclose personal data where required by applicable law, legal process, court order, or governmental request.

10.7 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, your personal data may be transferred to the successor entity subject to the protections described in this Policy.

Cross-Border Data Transfer

All user data collected through the OneMeet application is stored and processed within India.

Our primary cloud infrastructure is hosted on AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1), which is physically located in India.

We do not currently transfer personal data outside India.

To the extent that incidental data transfer occurs through services provided by Google, such transfers are governed by Google's own privacy and security commitments.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active and as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which the data was collected.

a. Account and profile data, professional information, and user-generated content are retained for the duration of your active account.

b. Location history, meeting logs, and interaction records are retained for the duration of your active account.

c. In-app messages and communications are retained until deleted by the user or upon account deletion.

d. Technical and device data, including analytics and crash logs, may be retained for up to 12 months.

e. Data shared with third-party providers may be subject to their respective retention policies.

Upon deletion of your account, your personal data will be processed in accordance with our Account Deletion and Data Purge policy.

Account Deletion and Data Purge

You may delete your OneMeet account at any time through the account settings section of the application.

Upon initiating an account deletion request:

a. Your account will be suspended immediately and your profile will no longer be visible to other users.

b. A grace period of 7 (seven) days will apply during which you may restore your account and reinstate your previous data.

c. After the expiry of the 7-day grace period, your personal data — including profile information, professional information, location history, interaction logs, messages, and user-generated content — will be permanently deleted from our active systems within a reasonable period not exceeding 30 (thirty) days.

d. Anonymised and aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained for analytics and platform improvement purposes.

e. Residual copies of your data may remain in backup systems for a limited period and will be deleted in the ordinary course of our backup cycle.

You may also request deletion of your data by contacting the Grievance Officer.

Your Rights and Withdrawal of Consent

As a Data Principal under the DPDPA, 2023, you have the following rights:

14.1 Right to Access
You may access your personal data through your profile page and account settings within the application.

14.2 Right to Correction
You may update or correct your personal information at any time through your profile settings.

14.3 Right to Erasure
You may delete your account and request deletion of your personal data in accordance with Clause 13.

14.4 Right to Withdraw Consent
You may withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time through available account controls or by contacting us.

14.5 Right to Object to Marketing
You may opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe option or by contacting us.

14.6 Right to Nominate
You may nominate another individual to exercise your data rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

14.7 Right to Approach the Data Protection Board
If you are dissatisfied with our response to your grievance, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once constituted under applicable law.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to such withdrawal.

SOS Emergency Feature

OneMeet includes an SOS feature designed to assist users in situations of physical emergency or danger that may arise in connection with their use of the application.

When the SOS feature is activated:

a. You will be immediately connected to a human moderator of the Company.

b. The moderator may assess the situation and coordinate with law enforcement authorities or emergency services where necessary.

c. Your live location at the time of SOS activation may be accessible to the moderator for emergency assistance purposes.

d. A record of the SOS event may be retained for safety, legal, and operational purposes.

The SOS feature is intended for genuine emergencies only. Misuse of the SOS feature may result in suspension or termination of your account.

Security Measures

We take the security of your personal data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it.

a. AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) encryption for data at rest and in transit.

b. Secure cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS Mumbai with industry-standard security controls.

c. Access controls and role-based permissions limiting access to authorised personnel only.

d. Human moderation and oversight to help maintain platform safety.

e. Secure server configuration and infrastructure monitoring.

While we take commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are advised not to share sensitive financial, health-related, or government identity information through the in-app messaging system.

User Safety and Platform Controls

Given the real-world meeting facilitation nature of the OneMeet application, we have implemented several safety features to help protect users.

17.1 Blocking

You may block any user at any time. A blocked user will not be able to view your profile or presence, send you Meeting Requests or Networking Requests, or communicate with you through the application.

17.2 Reporting

You may report any user or content for inappropriate behaviour, harassment, abuse, fraud, or misuse through the in-app reporting mechanism.

17.3 SOS System

You may activate the SOS feature at any time to connect with a human moderator during an emergency situation.

17.4 Human Moderation

Our moderation team actively reviews reports, user behaviour, and content to enforce community standards and respond to safety concerns.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The OneMeet mobile application does not use cookies.

The associated website, used solely for application information and download redirection, may use standard server-side logging for operational purposes.

No advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies are currently used on the website.

Within the mobile application, certain technical information such as usage analytics, crash reports, and application performance data may be collected automatically for operational and improvement purposes.

Technical data collection within the application is performed through application telemetry tools and not through browser cookies.

Marketing and Communications

With your consent, we may send you promotional and marketing communications through various channels.

  • WhatsApp Messages
  • Push Notifications
  • In-App Notifications

All marketing communications include an unsubscribe or opt-out mechanism.

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe option included in the communication or by contacting our Grievance Officer.

Opting out of marketing communications will not affect service-related notifications, security alerts, account notifications, or meeting request notifications necessary for providing the service.

Third-Party Services and Integrations

The OneMeet application integrates with selected third-party service providers that help us deliver and maintain the platform.

Google Authentication
Purpose: User sign-in and identity verification.

Google Maps SDK
Purpose: Location services and Premises-based discovery functionality.

Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Purpose: Cloud hosting, storage, and infrastructure services.

FSST 2
Purpose: SMS delivery for transactional and marketing communications.

These third-party providers maintain their own privacy practices and policies. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of these providers before using the related services.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, policies, or actions of third-party service providers.

Personal Data Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in harm to your rights and interests as a Data Principal, the Company will take appropriate steps in accordance with applicable law.

Notify the Data Protection Board of India (once constituted and operational) in the manner prescribed under applicable law.

Notify affected users in a clear and transparent manner regarding the nature of the breach, the categories of data affected, potential consequences, and corrective actions being taken.

Breach notifications may be communicated through email, in-app notifications, push notifications, or prominent notices within the application depending on the severity of the incident.

Automated Decision-Making

The OneMeet application does not currently employ automated algorithms or artificial intelligence to rank, match, score, or make decisions about users.

Professional discovery within a Premises is based entirely on user choice and interaction.

No automated decisions are made that could significantly affect users, including account suspension, content removal, or access restrictions, without human review.

No user data is used for training artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in applicable law, our data practices, or the features of the application.

When material changes are made, we may notify users through:

  • Email notification to the registered email address.
  • In-app notices.
  • Push notifications.
  • Pop-up notifications displayed during login.

The updated Privacy Policy will indicate the revised effective date and will be made available within the application.

Continued use of the application after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including applicable provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Privacy Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
